A Safer Connection

Catheters are medical devices that can be inserted into the bloodstream, a body cavity, or a duct to deliver medication, nutrition, or IV fluids. Serious catheter-related infections can manifest if bacteremia enters the sterile fluid pathway during the aseptic connection of fluid lines. Risk factors for infection include the microbiological environment in the treatment room, frequent accessing of the catheter, and poor aseptic technique.

accreVAL is engaged in the development of the aV Connector, a line of aseptic connector devices for performing aseptic connections and disconnections. By targeting and mitigating human risk factors, our connector technology aims to save lives by reducing episodes of catheter-related infections across a range of treatments including chemotherapy, total parental nutrition, and peritoneal dialysis.

aV Connector Technology

accreVAL Connectors help clinicians and home patients perform safer aseptic connections.

Our patent-pending accreVAL Connector technology offers a safe and reliable connection for the transfer of sterile fluids. Operators facilitate aseptic connections in a setting that safeguards the fluid pathway against all airborne and surface contaminants in the treatment room.  Aseptic connections are performed using guiding systems that minimize accident and negligence-based human errors.
